- Origin: Developed in New Zealand in 1985 as a natural cross between Royal Gala and Braeburn varieties, launched commercially in 2004.
- Appearance: Striking red and maroon flushes over shades of green, yellow, and orange with a pale cream to golden interior.
- Taste & Texture: Exceptionally hard, crunchy, and juicy with an intense, balanced sweet-sharp flavor and subtle pear-drop notes.
- Season: Harvested in New Zealand (primarily Nelson and Hawke’s Bay) from mid-March through early April.
